Stopped by for a quick bite while walking around town. I was partially inspired to go in because there was a young man playing violin outside to raise some money for the restaurant. I went in to buy something (mostly wanted to tip the violinist) and left with much more. The woman behind the counter told me the young man was playing to help the restaurant out because they had hit a lull in business. It’s tough for all of us out there, but to be able to support another human in even a small way, is what makes the world worth living in. The musician giving his time to the restaurant, the woman sharing some of her story with me, and me being able to give. My heart felt warm after being in Neama’s. I felt a sense of community and care. I got the grape leaves and was given a serving of DELICIOUS shortbread cookies. I don’t live in York, but I will be back!!! Thank you so much for making my day ❤️

Great place! Food was very good, service was friendly, and good atmosphere. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich and the shrimp soup. Both were very good, high quality, and flavorful. And the baklava was very good as well. Decent prices. Definitely recommend this place!

Drove 40 minutes for this food and will definitely do it again! The green soup with the rice were phenomenal!! Tasted just like how my grandma used to make it. Macarona bachamel was great. The food is very comforting and the customer service is a 10/10! Also their mint lemonade was AMAZING!

Exceeded all expectations! The dish I had was incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared—authentic, rich, and a true taste of Egypt. You can tell the passion and expertise that go into the cooking. The presentation was beautiful, and the warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving authentic Egyptian cuisine. Can’t wait to come back!

I ordered the makrona bashamel, 2 pieces of kofta, salad, and tehena. First time trying Egyptian based pasta dish...it was OK. But, the kofta were amazingly tender and juicy(made to order), and I also enjoyed the salad with tahini sauce 🤌. You can't go wrong with desert and strong Egyptian coffee after the meal... I advise you to try it! Parking could be a challenge, but I managed to find a spot. The restroom is clean, the restaurant is clean, and it's spacious. Owners are kind and welcoming. I'm glad I stopped and tried it, will eventually visit again sometime in the future.
